It is some time since i last had time to give an entry. I promise betterment. But let me now update why i was so busy. I have been in China and Mexico to teach and negotiate. The last few months i have had a small publicity train in the Netherlands about the acupuncture facial treatments i re-developed after initially learning this method from some Chinese medicine classics and the method of Virginia Dorian that she learned from a Japanese teacher who's name i for now forget. Discussing the method at Chinese Acupuncture Beauty acadamies and Chinese medicine universities i confirmed the small theoretical basis Virginia used to proof her point. mixing it with new age ideology she had a good sales product but cannot develop a method that can be improved upon. in a joint venture with a variety of people we researched and change dthe method to finetune it in our current method, including facial massage, zelf massage and an extensive educational program for facilitators. it fitted in with the wudang fasstracks i developed within the context of the Wudang Xuanmen pai and now we have a complete health, beauty, fitness and diet program we for now call "Daoland". Dao of health beauty, fitness and good food!
In Amsterdam i am reworking the YinYang Center towards a model Daoland, and that works out good, because it is based on open interaction, much like open source programming in computer programming. I guess this is the influence of my friend and webmaster who patiently keeps explaining me these principles. My old fashioned anarchist nature must feel attracted to that becasue it likes people to be equal and free. My tranditional nature likes it because it allows for discipline and idealism. My artistic nature likes it because it helps people and myself to develop the form of their life into something beautiful and useful. The ideal is also that people perceive that health/life is a shared experience and that cooperation and exchange is the basis of a harmonious society and not politics or economics.
In Mexico i found a good friend in new students due to the Progress my studetn Constanza Herrera made. I will have to upload some pictures. We were teaching at a large Gongfu school in Mexico city who's master is a Daoist at heart and who likes the ide of having the Wudang message shared in mexico too. I will get back to that later in another blog to tell more about the school in Mexico and my new friends there.
In Shanghai my friend Dave Wei (who i met through my old friend Howe Rokowski who knows him through the Couch Surfing website) offered me his place to set up a beauty salon using the Wudang program in Shanghai. In beijing my meetings with the Chinese medicine University research department finally paid off in the form of a cooperation that allows me to gradually implement the Daoland program in China. I start in march with 8 fasttracks for their staff. forreign studetns are welcome there too. I would like to develop a multicultural staff. i now have 5 cities waiting for me to open a center there too. For many people it would be a great chance to put work in China as part of their Chinese medicine and sports cv. They will also be trained to set up similar centers in their own hometowns wherever they come from. We have applications for centers from Capetown and India too. Our IOC western medicine teacher Peter Voshol is working at a center in England combining it with his research work for a cambridge institute....
That is in a Nutshell why i had no time, pretty busy. I also kept Desiree Bardie busy. She manages the Yin Yang Center and IOC in my absence. Heavy job. I am happy i can offer my students this perspective now. It will allow for greater understanding and recognition of Chinese medicine in the west as an educational health system on a par with Western medicine.
